About the Image(s)

I took this photo in a countryside of Xia Pu, Fujian Province, China on 12/20/2017. We're very lucky to have such a beatiful sunrise! My whole body was lying on the floor when I took this photo. Equipment used: CANON 5D Max III, Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens, remote shutter."

Beautiful image Tianji! Beautiful broad lighting, great atmosphere, nice to catch shot by a window with natural light, great angles, and wonderful story! If anything I would fix the spot of white light coming out of the top of her head. Otherwise, I like this shot, excellent capture!   Posted: 01/10/2018 20:02:46

Hi Tianji,
How fortunate to catch all the elements at once and so beautifully. Shooting from the floor was brilliant. Can't add anything more to the discussion. One suggestion though. Since we are displaying our images against a black background, it would help define the image to place a narrow stroke, 2 or 3 pixels wide in a subtle color on the image, especially when there are dark area on the image.

Tianji: A really nice photo-journalist photo. It is the type of image one can view and study for quite awhile I love the expression on the lady's face.   Posted: 01/13/2018 13:43:17

Good Day,
You don't say what image processor you use, Adobe Camera Raw is pure magic, you could have opened up the shadows just a bit and also toned down the highlights slightly without distubring the rest of the image.

The angles created by her hands and the loom are great, the perfect triangle. Using natural lighting is often the best way to go. Flash can really ruin a photo, unless done very carefully using ambient light properly. I agree that you can lose the little line of light above her head, but I was under the impression that you were not in a good situation for using computer corrections. When you get the opportunity, I would also tone down the light on the loom, as well.
Very nice work, and I admire you for getting down on the floor to take this shot. The angle of the image is what makes it great.   Posted: 01/15/2018 13:01:05
