About the Image(s)

As an Aviator, I have avid interest in Aircraft - Civil or military. I used to be an Airforce Pilot. Even after I became a commercial pilot , I maintained my passion about aircrafts or helicopters. I am also a "Plane Spotter". This is my handle in "Jet Photos" a popular online aviation resource.
https://www.jetphotos.com/photographer/77225. In the year 2020, I could not contribute anything to this area. But I recalled this beautiful image from 2017 "Victory Day Fly Past" of my country Bangladesh.
All types of military aircrafts make the display flight, which is known as "Victory day Fly Past". I always tried to shoot the aircrafts, with my camera almost every year. This was one shot I loved, out of few hundreds on 16th December 2017.
It was made hand held with no gimbals. It was an opportunity based shot, Visibility and lights were poor. I did some simple editing with the CS6 for cropping and light adjustment.
Any new idea or suggestions as to composition or other areas, would be more than welcome for my image.

Hi Syed, you have certainly done a good job converting this from the original. For my eye I think the crop is to close to the right edge, planes don't seem to have anywhere to go, I would place the middle plane on the left third area leaving the space at the front. The smoke is interesting however I don't believe you need that much to tell the story. On my screen the red smoke seem over saturated. Nice capture hand held.   Posted: 09/13/2020 05:17:01

Indeed a very interesting image and your conversion from original is very well done. Fully agree with Tom that the crop is too tight on the right leaving no space for the planes to fly into. In addition I would also suggest to try and clone out the lowermost plane that is half hidden by the smoke. Thanks for including the explanation about the 'Victory Day Fly Past'   Posted: 09/13/2020 12:29:08

Syed,
I like the action and the feel of this image. Tom and Arun have made some good suggestions, so I nothing additional to add.
Best regards,

Hi Syed - My colleagues have provided some good suggestions - especially about the crop - perhaps cropping from top and bottom and leaving the original width. I appreciate your sharing the story behind the photograph and the feel of motion the image brings.
