About the Image(s)

Deion: I shot this photo a few years ago with a model in New York Wall Street. I tried to use a filter effect to make it an Instagram look. I like it a natural look. Camera: Nikon D800, Lens 85mm f/1.4, Exposure 1/250 sec at f/4.5, ISO 400

Nice capture Xiao, the flags and street sign definitely set the scene of commerce and the model intent on the computer completes the story. Two things I would address are the bright red coat of the person on the street, just desaturate a bit, the red immediately draws my eye. Also the utility box behind the model seem a bit out of place for this image. I like you choice of depth of field, works well.   Posted: 09/13/2020 05:23:22

I like your composition and I think the conversion to sepia is interesting. You have captured the street atmosphere quite well. The seriousness on the model face expresses what he is busy with on his laptop.
I would have like to see the stars as well in the flags above and if the image were mine I would crop out the pole with the electric box behind the model.   Posted: 09/13/2020 12:45:06

A very nice composition. Although the points that Tom and Arun were making about the electric box, and the red coat in the background are valid, I am not sure I would have taken them out of the image. Having worked a few blocks away from where you made this image, I believe you captured the model with all the trappings of that location. There are a lot of things going on in this image, yet the model is focused on his work. This is very representative of that corner in New York City.

Hi Xiao - I like the original as much as the one presented. I think my colleagues have it all covered. If you were going to take the advice to crop out the utility box, I might also take out the bit of tree on the left side as well.
