This would make an outstanding background for a Christmas Card for 2021 and love how one sees the different shades of white and the black help gives up the feel of the tree etc.   Posted: 04/08/2021 10:29:17

For this month, I suggested snow because I learned the editing challenges of creating texture and detail into a snow image and also I also was curious whether any members would create a monochrome image.

I like the simplicity in your image, the composition filling the frame and the branch serving as a leading line. Also, I see you have created texture in the negative subject/background. If you wished to have more detail in the background snow, you could move the texture and dehaze slider to the right and then adjust the highlights and exposure to avoid blown out highlights.

I have attached an image of mine where I chose to bring more texture into the background because of the subject. I think it is a matter of taste, balance and intent. In the image attached, I wanted the snow to stand out where your image with light snow has an ethereal mood.

I love photos of trees with bare branches and the addition of snow really helps highlight the chaotic nature of tree limbs.   Posted: 04/15/2021 14:49:16
