With your adjustments to the background you have created a stunning and dramatic image. The sharpness is made all the more dramatic due to the use of contrast with the background.

While this is dramatic, I think I would add a bit of space around the edges (not much, just a bit) to avoid the cramped feeling.

This is a good job of making something out of nothing.   Posted: 07/03/2020 11:46:42

This capture featuring Waterlilies gives an impressive of depth and allows them to think they are going going.

While it also made me wonder where Kermit is, till realizing he is in New York or London with his spouse Ms Piggy.   Posted: 07/09/2020 23:23:51

I forgot to mention that this photo was taken on the first day of the Chicago Botanic Garden's reopening, June 24. It is a site that I love for photography, and my car was the third one in line as the gates opened. Timed ticket only with limited capacity!   Posted: 07/10/2020 07:39:12

Waterlillies in flower is a great reminder of summer. I love the way that you have isolated the lillies in a sea of black. Great visual impact.   Posted: 07/14/2020 04:33:00

Lovely image Barbara, having the lilies against the black background works well, makes the leaves and flowers the sole focus, image is sharp, with a great DOF, and the tonal range of the greens just right.   Posted: 07/21/2020 06:23:19

Great effect of highlighting the water lilies with the black water.   Posted: 07/21/2020 09:30:53
