a DOOR HANDLE by Timothy Morton, APSA

May 2020 - a DOOR HANDLE

About the Image(s)

As we are stay in place because of COVID-19 a world wide pandemic, just going to step outside to my Balcony in my flat at Granite Manor in downtown Hamilton, ON (Canada) I realize why not shot this door handle as the other stuff is one cute during snow etc.

Using my Nikon Coolpix (a point and shot camera) getting as close to it so it focus took a few captures, this one was the best which I then opened in Adobe Photoshop Elements where I re-sized to 750 x 1000 px, and then saved with a new name in JPEG for shot a door.

Details of the handle and screen are highlighted here. Makes one wonder what lies beyond.   Posted: 05/12/2020 14:03:17

Hi Tim,
The partially opened door - as presented by just its door handle -- makes you want to know what the view is like outside. Also, the woven part of the glass reminds me of the mask I need to wear to go outside, thereby representing the world we're living in today.   Posted: 05/13/2020 20:17:40

An interesting view, both of the close-up handle and, as Barbara said, what lies beyond. In particular, I like the left hand side of the image - the outside world diffused by the mesh.   Posted: 05/17/2020 05:01:03

A memory of COVID-19 and staying sequestered. Good job.   Posted: 05/17/2020 13:58:05

Hi Tim, I like the partly openness of the door, makes you look into the image to see if you can see more beyond, nice and sharp and has good contrast with the mesh on the other side   Posted: 05/19/2020 06:17:02
