CLOUDS by Timothy Morton, APSA

March 2020 - CLOUDS

About the Image(s)

The other day being clear with a section of clouds I shot and shot, and found this capture to best so using my walkabout toy the NIKON COOLPIX S3300 camera.

So, I opened the JPEG capture in Adobe Photoshop Elements when I used the SCENIC LANDSCAPE template from conservation into B&W and then re-sized to met the requirements and ended up what you are looking at.

Very interesting shot with a full range of tones. The breaks in the clouds lead the eye up and through the image.   Posted: 03/10/2020 15:13:27

A nice cloudscape with some interesting shapes.
Have you ever used a red filter to take cloudscapes? It will really increase the contrast between the clouds and a blue sky. It also improves the contrast with foliage when used for landscape shots.   Posted: 03/15/2020 09:31:43

Hi Tim, I like the clouds, they have a good range of tone and contrast that shows the depth of the clouds, image is nice and sharp, perhaps a big ask , but an aeroplane or bird would have added a little perspective as to the size of the cloud formation.   Posted: 03/18/2020 02:39:51
