Honey, I'm Home! by Barbara Dunn

November 2019 - Honey, I'm Home!

About the Image(s)

Canon 7D Mark II; 1/1,000 sec., f/9.0, ISO 200; 600 mm

This was shot at a Rookery about an hour from my house, on an outing with my camera club. We were very far away from the bird location, so it was difficult to get any kind of a close up shot.

Steps taken for image:
1. Cropped and straightened.
2. Removed some iron posts and debris.
3. Used Topaz DeNoise AI.
4. Sharpened, using Topaz Sharpen AI.
5. Resized for PSA website.

Another cleaver title.

And the image captures the emotions of family and in the wild makes it even more powerful as one can think of the joy in the capture understanding we need to protect them as we have the power and with the power goes great more importance to our earth.   Posted: 11/12/2019 07:38:44

I love the composition. It captures so many interesting interactions and emotions between the egrets. I have never seen one extend and twist its neck like the one on the left - one mate is definitely happy that the other is back home to help with the kids. There are so many interesting things to look at beyond the bird composition and probably my favorite is the turtle that is climbing out of the water on to the log.   Posted: 11/15/2019 14:31:02

Thanks, Paul. I didn't even see the turtle when shooting, not until I put the image on my computer!   Posted: 11/15/2019 17:42:40
