About the Image(s)

My first thought on 'Travel' was forms of transport but we did that last month. So, this is a variation on that.
On a recent trip out, I drove to the train station and parked, walked through the car park (image here) and onto the platform. I then had an hour on the train before alighting at the other end to catch a taxi to my destination.

How I did it:
As usual, I've tried to keep manipulation to a minimum:
I spotted out a few bits of litter and cigarette butts
I've then just cropped to size
Finally, I reduced to 750px

A very graphic, modern take on the theme. The yellow diagonals make the image dynamic, and frames the center of interest, the figure.   Posted: 08/09/2019 16:24:05

I love how simple this capture is and yet with the YELLOW LINES make it pop and not seem like a B&W image.   Posted: 08/11/2019 19:13:37

To me the initial impact is of a very good composition of a crosswalk photograph where the emphasis is on cartoon of where a pedestrian is supposed to be. The use of only three colors helps simplify the composition. I might have left the cigarette butt to give it a more gritty, city story - or even better you could have moved the cigarette butt to where it would be lying where is mouth would be.   Posted: 08/14/2019 10:25:47

Hi Steven,
It is interesting how a simple image can be so intriguing, the yellow lines take you through the image but you are stopped by this painted pedestrian, so you backtrack and look at the other aspects of the image.   Posted: 08/20/2019 07:46:00
