Can almost want eat some more as I had some this weekend at the Rockton's Fair, and was cooked on a FIRE PIT as boiling water doesn't do this justice to corn.   Posted: 10/10/2018 07:41:29

A successful food photo should create a positive emotional response. This was one definitely does that. I bought a cookbook this year called "Six Seasons: A New Way with Vegetables" and it has some great corn recipes. I fixed one last night that combines fresh corn kernels with crispy pancetta, arugula and sriracha sauce. Technically this photo is perfect and I really like the composition.   Posted: 10/10/2018 17:11:05

Hi, I am visiting from Monochrome Group 32. Your natural window light on this is just great, making this a stunning and very sharp image. Here it is in monochrome, just for discussion, if you please. Thank you.   Posted: 10/11/2018 23:06:43

Hi Stephen, thank you for your interest,I appreciate your comments and the conversion to monochrome, after flicking between the 2,(quite a few times) I must admit that I have a preference for the colour version as the green and yellow harmonize well and it is as our eyes expect it to look, where the mono leaves the image a little flat and doesn't hold the interest as long, although it does appear a little sharper in mono. Wendy, I prefer your color version, too. I just thought I would show the monochrome for discussion.   Posted: 10/17/2018 21:07:50

Love the lighting on this, so soft and even. Makes the subject crisp and a stand out against the background. Composition is effective, leading us through the subject.

Hi,
Loved this presentation. It is sharp. Composition at an angle is great. The threads and husk really provide you a sense of the texture of the corn. Lighting - nice. I really like the background being darkened. No improvements needed here!   Posted: 10/24/2018 21:37:49

A great image Wendy - colour and lighting are spot on, as is the sharpness. The black background, whilst not 'natural' does work here though.   Posted: 10/25/2018 05:34:14
