a SOAP BOTTLE by Timothy Morton, APSA

June 2018 - a SOAP BOTTLE

About the Image(s)

As the topic this month is BOTTLE wondered what to shot, then earlier today went into my bathroom and noticed this 1/4 filled soap bottle.

Took to my kitchen table, and shot it on various sides, and then opened in Adobe Photoshop Elements and fooled around with the POLARIZATION FILTER one a few of them, this one looked the coolest or most interesting which I then re-sized to fit the requirements of the gallery then fooled around with the UN-SHARP MASK and lastly saved as SOAP in JPEG format for uploading to this site.

Interesting close up, with a graphic quality to it. The colors make it interesting, as well as seeing only part of the label.   Posted: 06/07/2018 13:43:08

Well, you wouldn't tell it was a bottle from an initial look. The treatment has given it a very graphic feel, as Barbara said, and the word 'Method' really makes you wonder what it is.   Posted: 06/11/2018 11:40:35

To me it illustrates how creative one can be with such a common object. Good job.   Posted: 06/12/2018 10:28:55

Great looking abstract image, your eye goes around trying to find clues to what it is.
The colours really add to the abstract mystery.
