About the Image(s)

A few years ago when my husband was recovering from cancer, our daughter would bring amazing food hoping to tempt him to eat. She made this beautiful meat pie with a pastry crust. It smelled reeeeeally good! He cleaned his plate. Now that he’s all better, we only get regular food. Taken with my I phone, on whatever settings it chose. Processed in PS. Replaced the upper left corner with table surface and added a vignette.

Ah yes, I can smell it, Carole, and I can see, how eager you were to "inhale" that nice piece of pie ;-). The vignette is giving it a nice center focus. And killing the white spot on the upper left corner was the right thing to do. I hope you can convince your daughter to give you another piece from time to time ;-).

Sorry, I meant "Connie" - where is that button gone when I want to correct my comment?   Posted: 01/06/2021 22:05:11

Our daughter loves to cook and does, indeed, send us goodies from time to time.   Posted: 01/13/2021 15:03:37

The crust is what stands out to me and looks like the center of interest and looks like it smells very good. The pie server is an excellent secondary item of interest, especially since it looks like a fancy special piece of silver and also has those little bits of good-looking food on it. I like the look of the window lighting.   Posted: 01/13/2021 17:35:41

That pie server has been in the family for 3 generations. We seem to be the repository for all the family "treasures".   Posted: 01/14/2021 08:58:20

It certainly tells a story and must have been with now only half left! The crust is the winner and love the detail...perhaps to have top of the spoon included in the frame would complete it for me. Nice even light throughout so good job.   Posted: 01/14/2021 19:09:26

My eye was drawn first to that very pretty pie server, then to the dish and pie itself. I felt it photo complimented well with everything in focus. It really told a story. Makes me hungry too!   Posted: 01/16/2021 00:10:52

Going to have to take another lap around the neighborhood after all these tasty photos stimulating the appetite this month. I love the look (and smell?) of this photo as it relates to this months theme. Also have to appreciate how many of the photos were taken with Camera phones this month. They have certainly come a long way.   Posted: 01/19/2021 19:48:33

Pie is one of my favorite things! The crust looks good enough to eat. Your exposure is perfect. I might have lightened the flat surface of the pie server just a little bit and increased contrast there to accent the sticky food bits.   Posted: 01/25/2021 09:26:46
