About the Image(s)

This picture is a long exposure. May be, that some would rate the coloured picture better than the b/w. You should know, that a light painter bathed Hamburg into blue light. Surely he has the rights for this event, so the viewers may take photographs and post them in the internet, but not allowed to use them for exhibitions. Well, this object is normally free for photographers, so I turned it into b/w to put the colour away.

Aperture 18, 24mm, 30 sec., ISO 100. Camera 7D-MII, Sigma 17-70 mm on tripod.

A beautiful theater - emptied by corona virus?   Posted: 12/03/2020 18:02:25

No, Allen. This is a take from 2019. It was already late night and the show was over for an hour or so. Still Hamburg was blue all over the harbor - big challenge for photographers, cause the blue was really intensive. This theatre was build for "King of Lions" only.   Posted: 12/03/2020 18:25:09

Wonderful architectural image. Really like the play of light on the grid in the upper part of the image. Nice contrast between the simplicity of the grid and the much busier interior part.   Posted: 12/04/2020 17:03:34

Super interesting image Peter! I love the seriousness and all of the thought and planning that went into the architecture with this building only to have Mary Poppins in the bottom corner about to burst into song. Such a great contrast!   Posted: 12/12/2020 19:24:20

I like this image a lot and have just a few minor suggestions. I would clone out the 5 spot lights on the middle left of the photo. And, consider burning in the back wall as it is quite bright. Also consider emphasizing the stairwell by dodging and burning as it has a wonderful diagonal line.   Posted: 12/13/2020 19:39:06

Great image, Peter. I enjoyed the grid roof detail an would suggest dodging ever so lightly to bring out more of the really dark areas. I agree with Jim the the five spotlight are distracting and should be removed. Great image!
