Strong lines, patterns, tonal contrast - a classic monochrome image.   Posted: 08/01/2020 12:27:56

Welcome to our group Peter! Such a strong image you have presented to us first up. I will echo Allens comments with your strong patterns and tones. However my attention was drawn to the strong grey triangular portion of your image. I flipped and rotated your shot into something that for me looks more futuristic rather than classical. Congrats on a beautifully proportioned image.   Posted: 08/03/2020 19:18:32

Hello Sharon! So I actually do not know how to introduce myself in this group - it's great to be here and I'm glad to have the chance to discuss with you.

Some of my friends gave me the hint, to take the grey part out of the picture. Does not work - this is essential. It's not a "free" stairwell; The grey part is a wall. Behind this wall persons must go to reach the next steps upwards.

Your view has very much charme! I could imagine using this proposal in the future!   Posted: 08/03/2020 19:46:24

I really like this, Peter. I love repeating patterns and you've done a terrific job of capturing this. The only suggestion would be to crop in a bit from the left, maybe half way from the edge of the frame to first line.   Posted: 08/09/2020 14:12:01

Thank you for your suggestion, Henry. Indeed, I do not need the left part. Of course you must not have the traditional cut of 3*2 - but I think, that the picture would get too tough. Once I've heard, that architecture needs place to breath. I'll try it out ... From this point of view the motif is suboptimal. I have another stairwell where the proportions fit better (October I think).   Posted: 08/09/2020 18:21:56
