Red Shouldered Hawk by Lori Azevedo

January 2021 - Red Shouldered Hawk

About the Image(s)

While spending the day this week with another photographer searching for bobcats I came across what I think is a Red Shoulder Hawk sitting in the thickets. Other that seeing wild pigs, raptors, some barn owls, road runners, and deer the adventure was a bust for bobcats. The day was getting a little too bright but still thought the photo was worthy to submit. Camera settings: Nikon E850 ISO 400, my 100-400 lens was pushed all the way to 400mm, f/6.3 and 1/800 shutter.

What a beautiful animal; you really captured him well. Can you crop a little off the top? I think that would make it a better image. You could even crop a little off the right side.
But it's beautiful.   Posted: 01/12/2021 16:17:56

Thank you Donna. I was worried about how much to crop but I think you are right. Let me know what you think.   Posted: 01/12/2021 18:07:56
