The Palouse Area at Sunset by Diana Duffey

November 2019 - The Palouse Area at Sunset

About the Image(s)

How I Did It: This image was taken during one of the PSA Conference tours in Spokane. I took this image with my Sony a7R3 - lens 24-240mm.
My camera setting were: ISO 400, F 8.0, SS 1/500, 124mm. I used the basic adjustments in LR… shadows, clarity, dehaze… I also experimented with the graduated filter. I appreciate you comment on how to improve this image. Your comments are always so helpful.

Wow, so many lines and textures and shadows, very nice. I love it. The only thing I might change is to either darken or remove the blue thing in the middle -- is it a lake, a truck, what is it? My eye keeps going there, distracts me.
Other than that, it's gorgeous !   Posted: 11/11/2019 16:47:52

Donna, the thing you are seeing in the middle of the image is a barn or some type building. I will remove it. Thanks for pointing that out to me.   Posted: 11/12/2019 17:14:29

Nice image. If you cropped from the top you would get rid of the poor colors there. Nice job.   Posted: 11/14/2019 14:35:02

A well-done scenic! You've captured the rolling hills of the Palouse quite well with the sunset lighting. I am not too distracted by the blue barn in the center - I would keep it in and just darken it. However, I find the barn near the center-right edge more distracting. Again, keep it in and just tone it down.   Posted: 11/25/2019 11:51:54
