Whistling Ducks by Herb Zaifert

August 2019 - Whistling Ducks

About the Image(s)

This is a composite of three shots of the same Whistling Duck. I came across this duck in Florida who was just sitting there posing for me. I took several individual shots and then combined three of them into a pleasing composition.
I used a Nikon d7000 with a Tamron 150-600 mm lens.

I agree that this image shows superb sharpness that brings out the texture of the ducks' feathers. Also, very slight differences in lighting (especially around the eyes) between the composites gives the impression that these are actually 3 different ducks. Subdued background and a horizontal format further add to the image. The compositing is perfect except that the outline of the left hand duck's chin is slightly visible through the bill of the middle duck. Overall, though, very well done!   Posted: 08/19/2019 22:16:41
