February 2021 - The Teals

I'm working on various B&W photos for an up and coming show. These are Blue Winged Teals that were wading in the shallows. Shot was handheld. The light was not in my favor and the head of the male (viewer's right) is very dark to start with so I thought B&W would bring out a bit more detail. I did my normal process start in LR and move to Nik's Silver EFEX. I used one of the presets but adjusted to my liking then I moved to Viveza to soften the background (which didn't have a lot of detail because the water was fairly still) with control points. I like how it turned out so I'm considering using it. Any thoughts or improvement possibilities?? Thanks!

good focus, good use of B-W, some could say that there's to much dead space on left and top but I like the simplicity of picture. Posted: 02/19/2021 05:42:38
Debbie- You did a great job by softening the background and foreground so let your attention remain on the Teals and around. Your results of The Teals in B&W are pleasing and I like it.
