Japanese Garden Butterfly by Shaikh Amin, FPSA, GMPSA

October 2020 - Japanese Garden Butterfly

About the Image(s)

I got this creature in a Japanese garden in Portland several years back. I used my Nikon camera D70s with AF 70-300 mm lens without disturbing the beauty. Then I enhanced the color balance and sharpened it in PS.

Hi Shaikh, Lovely image. I like the composition with the just off center placement of the butterfly in the frame. The branches along the bottom and the out of focus branches along the top create a light strip of good background for the butterfly itself. Nice soft lighting and sharpness in the subject.   Posted: 10/13/2020 16:14:19

What a pretty butterfly! I do like the contrast of details here. I see enough to know the butterfly's environment but it doesn't overwhelm the butterfly. Do wish I could see more detail of the butterfly's eye. Might be the type that doesn't have really cool eyes but the solid black makes it look flat.   Posted: 10/17/2020 14:17:19
