Road to No Where by John Larson, FPSA, MPSA

October 2020 - Road to No Where

About the Image(s)

My fiance and I finally decided that a trip to Edisto Beach, SC was in order as long as we took the necessary precautions. It is not anywhere as popular as Myrtle Beach and much safer from Covid-19. Anyhow we went to a local state park and saw this road with "live" oak. I made the normal Lightroom adjustments, then applied the Foliage Filter in Nik Color Efex and then Pro Contrast, also in Nik Color Efex.

Perfect...composition, lighting and color. Fine focus as well, front to back. I cannot think of any improvements to be made. Reminds me of when I was biking long distances. There was a road on a Michigan tour such as this that they named the "Tunnel of Trees". However, no Spanish Moss. So, I guess, there is another point in your favor; my emotional attachment.   Posted: 10/13/2020 13:19:21

Hmmm, made a comment and the whole page disappeared. So will try again. This is a perfect Southern road. Been on many a one. Love the resurrection ferns adding themselves to the much greenery. Hope you got a chance to visit the boneyard in Edisto! This is how 'home' looks to me so I think it's great and wouldn't change a thing!   Posted: 10/17/2020 11:38:14

Good composition with the road as a leading line. Can not see anything that would improve this image as it is a 10.   Posted: 10/25/2020 17:39:27

John-Beautiful view of green trees joining each other with a leading road to nowhere. You did a good job in PS by using other gadgets which I don't have and I never used it! However, the shadows of the trees made it more interesting. I wish there was some human interest on the empty road.
