The Queen Revisited by Debbie Perez

September 2020 - The Queen Revisited

About the Image(s)

Last month I showed you the composite I did using this flower. I wanted to use the flower in a local competition (40th year for it). I took in the various comments and created this version with a black background. Honestly, I'm not fond of it but it was certainly a learning to use various tools to mask the flower into a black background. Enclosed the histogram that highlights are bright but not clipped. I printed this version, a version with the moon (colored as suggested) a cropped version with no moon, dark spot that Jesse had suggested I removed (this one I used). It placed so thanks to all for your suggestion!

I feel that by re-editing it using some of the suggestions from the group has greatly improved it. As it now stands it is a solid ten in my eyes.   Posted: 09/21/2020 18:47:36

Debbie: You treated this image very well than the last month. Crisp sharp and good detail of the flower with no distraction around. Well done Debbie. Are you taking a part in Int'l exhibitions?

Thank you! I have never consider it. I just started local competitions about 2 1/2 years. Have competed at state level but that's about it.

This is a very lovely flower and the black background makes sure there are no distractions. I believe that many of your photos would do well in Int'l Competitions. Sometimes you will be disappointed with the results, but overall you should do well.   Posted: 09/25/2020 09:56:06
