Rail Cars by Priscilla Farrell

August 2019 - Rail Cars

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken on a camera club trip to SW Wisconsin. We visited a train museum filled with old cars and associated memorabilia. Post processing with PSE and Nik's detail extractor. I replaced the bland looking sky with what you see here.

Camera settings: f6.3, 1/160 sec., @ISO 400

As I would wear a railroad cap and even traveled to Horseshoe Curve, so I consider myself a RR buff.
Nice composition, well framed.
Lots of leading lines, nicely done. Jesse   Posted: 08/14/2019 10:19:25

Like the lines and other geometrics. The colors and composition are both very pleasing. Agree with Jesse: NICELY DONE!   Posted: 08/14/2019 16:40:45

Very nice shot and a good perspective. What was the focal length of your lens? How far were you standing from the wheels (?) on the ground? At f6.3, I think the nearest and furthest subjects are a touch out of focus (at least on my monitor), but that does not detract from the overall interesting composition.   Posted: 08/18/2019 22:21:44

Priscilla-Your rail car image is pleasing one but you could do it better by enhancing further if you had used tripod and polarizing rotating filter and see the difference yourself.
This is my suggestion only with my experience.

A nice image that has some bold leading lines. I would crank up the saturation a bit to give the image more pop. I think I might also crop most of the empty railroad tracks.   Posted: 08/28/2019 13:18:41
