The sky is great!!! There looks like there might be a bit of a "hot spot" in it that i would try to tone down a bit and I might do a wee bit of dodge and burn to bring out some more detail in those wonderful clouds. I really like how you chose to photograph the water in the fountain. I really think keeping the spray sharp works well and the detail in the fountain is great, too! Well done!   Posted: 07/17/2017 08:53:51

I can't help wondering what it would look like at an extremely slow shutter speed?
The sky is great except for the aforementioned hot spot.
My trained eye has me checking and measuring the true horizontal, I feel it is a silly millimeter off level.
Will look for the fountain the next time I am in Chicago.
My instincts are to have more sky and less water in the forefront, well done.   Posted: 07/17/2017 09:27:20

Pricilla: You Picked up a good spot of fountain with beautiful dark clouds but white hot spot cloud right in the middle creates distraction in beauty of fountain. This hot spot needs to be toned down very carefully. If I were you, I would wait for the cloud to move away from distracting point and then start my shooting. I would definitely use slow shutter speed to have smooth flow of water which gives you pleasing effect. It also needs a little bit correction of horizon line and I agree with Jesse's comments on this.

We all see the hot spot. I like the clouds and water motion but maybe a bit more panoramic view. The edges of the fountain look cut off.   Posted: 07/24/2017 10:33:26

I feel you did a nice job with a p&s camera. Good processing of the sky. To my eye would have been nice, if possible, to have included the edges of the fountain and cropped out more of the water in the foreground. The lamppost could also be removed.   Posted: 07/24/2017 16:15:58

I was raised in Chicago while my Dad was in the war. This is one of my favorite Chicago scenes. For me the clouds are a bit distracting as to me the fountain is the subject. I often visited this fountain at night with the different colors. I would like to see more of the sides of the fountain and turn this into a panorama.   Posted: 07/28/2017 09:53:45
