Curious Kids by Snehendu Kar

November 2020 - Curious Kids

About the Image(s)

The subject is self-explanatory -- anyone who has driven on Indian roads and made a stop will attract curious kids.
I thought capturing them in a side-view mirror would be an interesting catch. Technical data not recorded; camera Nikon D800, f.28-85 @ 28mm; ASA =200 equivalent, auto

Hello Snehendu,
This is terribly clever, and very successful.
In the USA, all such side-view mirrors have engraved messages saying, "Objects in this mirror are closer than they appear," and thinking about that and this image amused me to think what a close crowd of kids must have been around you. When we have traveled in India, we would always have pencils and pens for the school kid, as well as candy. Pandemonium!   Posted: 11/14/2020 16:42:06

On your next visit, you might need to carry a cache of smart phones! :-)   Posted: 11/26/2020 12:47:14

Great composition and display of a bunch of kids. I like the details in the eyes as it seems each one is looking at you. Nice image.   Posted: 11/18/2020 12:21:30

Hi All:
I am sill having vision blurriness from my glaucoma surgery and cannot see the images clearly and unable to make thoughtful comments your images deserve. I must reluctantly pass this round.
Best to all,

Truly this is a great idea and a wonderful group portrait. I never forget to check my side view mirror for potential landscape possibilities, but haven't used it for a portrait. I hope you sent the kids a copy of this lovely image.   Posted: 11/26/2020 12:50:04

Wonderful picture - and wonderful smiley kids. Wish my side mirrors were ever that clean! Like Sukumar I've used car mirrors on various occasions but never for a group portrait (watch this space...........)   Posted: 11/26/2020 13:21:41
