'Aarogya Setu' or: Big Brother is Watching You by N. Sukumar, APSA

June 2020 - 'Aarogya Setu' or: Big Brother is Watching You

About the Image(s)

The title for this image is inspired by 'Aarogya Setu' (literal translation: Bridge to Health), the so-called contact tracing app (based on self reporting!) which the government of India mandated all public and private employees and all travelers and commuters on Indian roads to download. It has raised serious privacy concerns, which most people are unconcerned about; hence the subtitle. The image is a selfie taken a few months ago while I was sitting in my dentist's waiting room. Created in my iPad with the Photo Booth app in kaleidoscope setting.

A very creative image and innovative use of iPad and post-production processing. It reminds me of Escher's "infinite perspective" but with kaleidoscopic effect. Bravo!   Posted: 06/24/2020 04:16:03

Minimal 'post-production processing' here; the image was taken with the kaleidoscopic preset filter in Photo Booth.   Posted: 06/24/2020 13:27:48

I like the kaleidoscope treatment. It brings together related images and a new and different format. Well done.   Posted: 06/25/2020 13:52:47
