May 2020 - The Ghost Who Walks

About the Image(s)

Each evening the setting sun makes a transit across my neighbour's balcony window. The entire show lasts barely 2 minutes. Some combination of reflection and refraction in the glass and reflection from the walls produced this unique and unusual image one evening. Shot with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi with Canon EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 USM lens @ 300 mm. Aperture Priority f/11 @ Shutter Speed 1/160 sec. Exposure Compensation -1; ISO: 200. No digital manipulations except contrast and tonal adjustment, cropping and resizing.

Wonderful capture ! and most striking image. My only suggestion would be to 'level' it as it tends to lean to the right.   Posted: 05/10/2020 10:45:28

Interesting story as you bring new meaning to reflecting light. I wonder if the door frame and balcony were lighter, it would strengthen the image.   Posted: 05/10/2020 12:48:20

Really interesting. I'm thinking to crop into it to focus on a much tiger scene, like a partial view, as the balcony is mostly in the dark.   Posted: 05/11/2020 17:53:45

I like the sense of mystery in this image. I think the inclusion of the balcony is necessary to reveal the location.   Posted: 05/25/2020 14:00:51
