Asmar Murad

Retired Civil Engineer. Born and lives in Bahrain, I've actively engaged with photography since 2009. I'm fascinated by documenting the everyday life witnessing radical changes in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
<br />For me, documentary photography is an essential tool to preserve in a visual form cultures on the verge of transforming.
<br />I've attended various workshops and participated in numerous exhibitions on and out of the island.
<br />Internationally, I participated with Bahrain Photography Club in the 34th FIAP Black & White Biennial Exhibitions in Seoul, South Korea 2016 and 2018 in Durban, South Africa.
<br />In 2018, I also participated at National Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition -44, with a work called" A Letter to my Bicycle". In 2019, I participated at Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition -45 & 46, with a work called "Traces" and" Deconstruction of Memories"
<br /> I also, have curated a book called "Bahraini Cowboys".
<br />In 2020, I participated in "Ramadan in Quarantine" of Sekka online magazine with a Montage photography work and lately in the" Great Lockdown Art Exhibition" at Bin Matar House.
