Woodduck in Sycamore Grove by Barbara Mallon

April 2021 - Woodduck in Sycamore Grove

About the Image(s)

This woodduck posed in a local park. It was part of a group. They were not very close. Photo was cropped from a 400 mm shot f 5.6 shot. I took lots of photos and this was the best. Twenty years ago, I bought a bench in my parents memory, and had it put at this location because I had seen wood ducks there. This is the first time I have gotten a reasonable shot!

That was a great way to honor your parents memory, and I am sure it has been enjoyed by many. The image looks nice and sharp. The reflections are very good and the small waves around the duck add some "life" to the image. The leafy area at the far right is drawing my eye from the duck, and if you are not going to use it for nature, you might want to clone it out.   Posted: 04/13/2021 10:56:58

Barbara, that was nice to honor your parents in this manner and enable others to sit and wonder at nature as your parents must have also enjoyed. I find your image appealing, first as it draws attention to our subject due I believe to the saturated colors and the subtle reflections. I also would suggest toning down the yellow leafy area to the right or cloning it out.   Posted: 04/16/2021 12:47:50
