About the Image(s)

Taken last month on my photo shoot at Cass, WV. I used Topaz Adjust 5 and the light grunge pop to add some detail. I also did some clean up to get rid of the dead tree. I liked the smoke hanging over the train. It was taken with my Nikon D7500 and 18-300mm lens at 58mm, 1/125 second, f9 and ISO 400.

Tom: I really the this train photo. The smoke is magnificent and the curve in the tracks. Also it inside the entire train. The red in the caboose contrasts well with the green foliage. **Rick**   Posted: 10/01/2019 16:42:47

Thanks, it was a great photo shoot. I have some other shot in the station area where 2 trains were "racing" with really great smoke. Maybe I will enter one of them next month.   Posted: 10/02/2019 13:12:10

I've always had a romantic feeling toward these ancient behemoths and this images captures what is in my imagination. For me it is the curve of the tracks for a setting and this followed by the dense smoke with all the detail belching from the stack. The romance of the rails, the nostalgia of yesteryear---yep, you got it all. This is beautiful.

Wonderful Tom. The steam locomotive coming around the bend, the strong cloud from burning coal, the red caboose.
