Milky way images are something that I have wanted to do, but it is getting hard here in the US to find an area dark enough. When I was a kid and even 30 years ago when my when we were out camping you could see the milky way. Pretty sad about what we have done and are doing to the environment. Back to the image. How did you get the foreground lighted? Images like this need that foreground. As to the color, I like the color better in your second image, that is being shown as the original.   Posted: 08/10/2019 17:02:05

Well done! Are the foreground pinacles tilted that way or is it the lens? That is the only thing that bothers me. I like the red glow you gave the image. Usually I see these rather blue. Good chice of shutter speed to get the stars frozen instead of streaks. Where is this place?   Posted: 08/10/2019 21:56:04

I haven't made any photos of the milky way yet, but it is my white of these days. This is very nice, I like the original colors you submitted best. The foreground almost looks like your on another planet.   Posted: 08/13/2019 12:48:37

Very nice starry sky photo. I would more like the blue color, when in a dark night the clear sky usually is dark blue. That is more reality.   Posted: 08/15/2019 13:45:37

Thanks for all your encourages and good advises!
This photo has been taken in Pinnacles Desert in West Australia. I won the best photo at 2018 Sydney Sculpture by the sea hold by Sydney Morning Herald, and I got the trip package with two return air tickets, accommodation for 3 nights etc. So I invite my photography sister (always go on photo trips together) to be with me and it's really enjoyable trip, we see the Nature which we couldn't see in the cities, love the nature world!   Posted: 08/16/2019 04:51:03

and actually we have been in Pinnacles Desert when we arrive WA; but we want to go back again. We cancelled the paid airport pick up service etc and stay in Pinnacles Desert for the last night in WA....That's un-forgetable night, we are there to watch the sunset; the galaxy and stars; the moon was very windy night too, if we tired of photo shoting, we just go back to the rental car for a break....   Posted: 08/16/2019 04:56:19

I agree about the blue sky, I think it provides a feel of realism in a very surreal image. However, I do like the red tone of the final photograph as it adds that sense of the supernatural. It is a very enjoyable photo to look at and try to decipher.   Posted: 08/26/2019 14:11:57
