About the Image(s)

I really like this picture but cannot put my finger on why. Whenever I look at it I see flaws, but for some reason it keeps drawing me in again. It was taken with an older iPhone (5) while I was in San Francisco last fall. I flipped it over, only because I had never done that before and ended up liking the bird on the right. I cleaned up some of the distractions, leveled it as best I good, and tried to bring out the sky ( I am very jealous of what you guys do with skies!).

At first I thought we had another Bay area member. I am pulled straight to the bridge. Everything points to it: The bird, clouds, the light on the water and the hills on the side. I see lots of photos of the golden gate bridge. This is unique! The depth of field that you get with an Iphone is fantastic. (Note my photo this session.)
That is the way the clouds look there. Well done!   Posted: 08/05/2019 15:42:48

Thank you, Barbara. They were very nice comments.
I am from Boston, but two of my children live in San Francisco.   Posted: 08/05/2019 17:17:09

Cell phone images are becoming a lot more popular with photographers. I am sure it is because they are so good, and also because it is the camera that you have with you. Reversing the image places the bird in a better location. The bird adds a lot to the image. I am glad that you straightened it, but I think that I like the color better in the original. The boat wake takes the eye straight to the bridge.   Posted: 08/10/2019 17:08:41

It's like you can almost feel the spray of the water. The sea gull is an extra bonus. I think I like the one you submitted over the original. The original is more realistic, but the other has more warmth and feeling to it   Posted: 08/13/2019 12:57:21

Your image is familiar for me. The original is shooting from inside SF Bay, when you flipped over, then the shooting is from outside the SF Bay. I like the flipped version, the bird on right side seems better. I more like your original sky blue color. I tried to retrieve the blue sky and dehaze a little bit.   Posted: 08/15/2019 18:13:16
