Tucson Mission Through the Archway by Tom McCreary, APSA, MPSA

August 2019 - Tucson Mission Through the Archway

About the Image(s)

This is the Mission San Xavier del Bac in Tucson. They were working on it while I was there, so the angles to take images from was limited. It was taken at 27mm, and 1/320, f10, ISO 100. I did open up the shadows some in Lightroom, and cropped in some. I also dehazed the image a little bit.

Nicely done Tom, I feel like I could walk right through the arches. Can't see any room for improvements.   Posted: 08/13/2019 12:28:55

Very nice landscape photo. you captured in nice weather with blue sky and white clouds. The arch as a framing is very good in your composition.   Posted: 08/13/2019 13:45:59

Tom,you have captured an inviting mission scene, with excellent framing to focus one's eyes to inside the courtyard. The sky with a fine cloud pattern adds. A question for your thoughts, is where in the courtyard did you wish for the viewer to be attracted to? I find my eyes immediately drawn into the courtyard, but upon arriving, I am attracted to look upward to the interesting sky.   Posted: 08/14/2019 15:35:26

Great image. I like how it is framed by the gate. I like how the line of the inner gateposts, trees, and tower bring your eyes up to the sky.   Posted: 08/15/2019 11:42:15
