About the Image(s)
I thought I would get a jump on Spring with this image of a rose bud. Image was captured with my 60mm Macro mounted on the Nikon D200. ISO 400 with aperture 3.7 @ 1/60 sec.

Beautiful photo of a lone rose bud. Love the soft dreamy background.

Hi Jim,
I like the painterly effect that this image background represents to me and the textures of the bud are interesting. The color pallet in this image is pleasing to my eye.
I wish details of the rose petals were visible and the darker section in the background were lightened. Also, I'm not sure if all the negative space to the right of the image is necessary.   Posted: 03/18/2023 15:07:46

So much detail here, Jim. A gorgeous shot. I agree there could have been some cropping on the right, make the bud in the center, but either way its lovely.

Nice sharpness on those surrounding leaves and the little hairs on those leaves! Macro lenses can be tricky with how much will be in focus. I think the only way you are going to get the leaves and the bud in focus would be doing focus bracketing and then combining. Perhaps a portrait crop to eliminate some of the extra space to the right?   Posted: 03/23/2023 17:22:21
