I always had a theme for my birthday parties! This was taken with my Canon EOS 5 D, Canon Macro 100mm, a Hoya polarizing filter, a tripod, and a cable release. ISO 800, 100mm, f/32, 4.0 sec. In LR Classic I strongly reduced highlights and whites, and I slightly increased tint, texture, clarity, vibrance & saturation. I also darkened the edges with a vignette.

Sandra, this is one beautiful image with great impact. Very sharp with great DOF. Great colors. I see you used a tripod, cable release and a polarizer. These really make a difference and I feel using a tripod improves composition. The only change I might make are some bright spots in the background that to my eye are a bit distracting. I removed these and added some structure using NIK software which brings out the texture in the flower petals. I just feel you really have a great image. Nice work! Posted: 11/01/2020 20:12:37

Both. It was on a black foam board on the kitchen table with light coming in from the window and also artificial overhead. I intended to turn off the light, but I forgot. Thus I had to work hard to down the lights in post processing. Posted: 11/07/2020 16:55:47
