About the Image(s)

This was taken indoors when I was experimenting with black plexiglass and a black background inside with lighting from a small LED unit. Found it fun to use various objects from my grandson's toy collection. Micro105 lens, f20, 1/4 sec, ISO 640 on tripod.

Hi Janet, I'm early for once this month.

I do like this photo! Nice and sharp throughout, good composition, simple subject, lovely reflection which keeps the composition from being too symmetrical. The colour palette is limited yet complimentary to me. Well done!   Posted: 11/08/2019 02:18:24

Simple yet clean image to appreciate Janet. Like the monochrome tone used. Wondering why yellow over white though...   Posted: 11/09/2019 20:41:41

Hi, Madhusudan,
Thanks for the comment. Just to let you know the color of the cards and dice is the original as shot. Never thought to have changed it - but you did get me thinking...

Great job Janet. I really can't add anything from what others have said. Great composition. Great arrangement of the parts in the image. So many times in photography less is better. I think you nailed this one. would not change a thing.   Posted: 11/12/2019 20:48:41

The lovely shades of gold and yellow are perfectly symbolic in this image! I love the sharp contrast against the black background. It isolates the subject, and it gives the subject great impact. In my opinion, this is an excellent and engaging image.   Posted: 11/15/2019 06:43:07

Nice, sharp photo. I love the composition. The background is very effective, especially for the reflections. The decor on the cards works well with the yellow dice.   Posted: 11/16/2019 10:02:54

This is awesome, Janet! I can't think of anything to add to what's already been said, nor can I think of anything to improve your great capture! Bravo!!! d:¬{D   Posted: 11/21/2019 12:10:45

Dear Janet,
Just to correct the white at the background of the cards: I have edited in Photoshop copying your picture in another layer, convert it to B/W and made a fusion "strong light" 85% opacity with your original picture. Don't know if you may like it.   Posted: 11/26/2019 04:53:50

Hi, Salvador.
That is an interesting edit you did. Results look very good.
I am always amazed at the possibilities that experimenting with post-processing offers. I sometimes look back at old images and experiment - with interesting results sometimes.
Thanks, Janet   Posted: 11/27/2019 15:46:11
