Red Raspberries by Dick States

October 2019 - Red Raspberries

About the Image(s)

Purchased these red raspberries to eat but thought they just might make an interesting macro image first, then enjoy them as a dessert. I see some interesting diagonal lines and one point of interest.
This is a 12 stack image taken at f-8 using my 200 macro lens. Each shot was a .62 sec. exposure, ISO 200, -.7 exposure compensation to keep the reds from being blown out on the histogram.

Love the instant impact of this shot.
Lots of interesting detail, great composition, effective border, treatment/tone of the reds is easy to look at. I can almost taste the berries as I look at the image, especially the one you chose to be the center of interest.
Just added raspberries to my grocery list.

My wife is still picking raspberries, it's been a good year for them here. Sadly I don't like their texture when fresh, but I love her jam.

I think this is a super example of many tones of deep red. The depth of field is ideal, the ones at the top are nicely out of focus to give a good background. The darkest berries are in the corner, ideal. The white border is the topping on the dessert!   Posted: 10/15/2019 08:24:22

WOW, what a composition! Amazing DOF and color in this image. I want to touch them to see if they feel as good as they look. Simply amazing! I look forward to your image each month as I learn so much from your work. Thank you! d:¬{D   Posted: 10/15/2019 17:14:41
