About the Image(s)

This was taken with one of my Lensbaby lens. Shot at f-4, 1/2000sec. ISO-400, -.3stop. This is a hand held shot. Lensbaby gives an image a unique look. Very shallow DOF.

Hi, Dick.
I have never used a Lensbaby lens so I cannot comment comfortably on the technical aspects of the image. How does it compare to "stacking images"?
Anyway, I find that I am confused looking at all three flowers. The top one and the righthand one distract me from concentrating on the one that is more in focus. Maybe that is what is suppose to happen? You caught some interesting detail in the front one with the droplets on the petals but I get an unsettled feeling if I spend much time concentrating on it.

This a very typical Lensbaby look with little in focus with this lens. Lensbaby gives a very artsy look to an image. The extreme opposite of stacked images which I do a lot of. This type of image works very well when doing power point programs. There's room with this type of image for lettering when I make title slides for programs. I do quite a few programs for groups.   Posted: 03/08/2019 17:53:04

I don't have one either, so I looked on their website. Lensbaby has a tilting front element so you can blur the image on either side of a diagonal, imposed over the usual depth of field, as far as I can make out. It looks a bit like the diorama effect in Affinity to me. Interesting!   Posted: 03/08/2019 17:30:18

I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of the Lensbaby look. SO much is out of focus that I over-examine the area in focus. As a Powerpoint slide, though, I can see the value! d;¬{D   Posted: 03/23/2019 00:08:30

I like very much your image and I think also like you it's an image to be complemented with text information.
In order to limitate the effect of distracting of the objects out of focus I can suggest to make a dark filtre around the focused area, like the one I proposed in the uploaded imatge.   Posted: 03/28/2019 05:27:53
