From the first look this "dandy" reminded me of a man getting bald by the years. So it has my compassion.

I like the black background that lets the structure of the seeds (is this the right term here?) come out very good. Generally I like the graphic attitude you gave this pic.
I wonder how it might appear in b/w or in a series of colored "dandies" in Warhol style.
So my associations go away from nature to graphic art. But this might have nothing to do with your picture.

Technically I would prefer a little more sharpness on the "bald head" and on the one seed hanging lonely above the others. The centered subject is okay for me in this pic.   Posted: 07/06/2017 10:34:54

Hi Tom,

Very nice Depth of Field. Everything is in focus. I would also like to see this as a B&W image.

Cheers,
Tom

Yes, seeing this I prefer the b/w version. I think you donīt need the color for the impression so b/w brings it to the point.   Posted: 07/06/2017 16:18:47

Hey Tom P - IMHO I thought the color palate for this image was fine and also pleasing to my eye. I like the somewhat muted palate contrasting to the tack sharp (except the 6 O'clock position which doesn't bother me) center which is the main subject to my opinion. The distraction is that one seed stuck in the the Dandy at about 12 O'clock. I did a version where I removed it so no longer a distraction. these images are by rule very low resolution. comments   Posted: 07/10/2017 16:55:05

Hi, Tom.
Not sure which I like the best - the B/W or color. They each evoke a different interpretation. The B/W very graphic and the color a calming natural feeling. Guess I lean towards the color. I like it, Tom!

For me I like the color best. I suppose we all have shot dandelions and I feel it's not easy to end up with something that works. They have so may attached elements that can contribute to a somewhat messy look. I agree with Toni, removing the one seed works for my eye. Good work Tom.   Posted: 07/24/2017 20:24:56
