About the Image(s)

There is no actual ‘before’ for this image It was a matter of setting up a piece of textured glass that I have and placing a coloured paper I made behind it. I put the objects on a mirror and used an ordinary 40 watt bulb each side of the setup, finished with a High Pass filter. I like to use a stroke finish and since the black doesn’t show up on our site, I used a light yellow one, might be a bit over the top.
I am showing two versions. In the original box this one shows the BG more intense ,I prefer the softer one although the former looks a little sharper, or do my eyes deceive me?

Both images are lovely but I think I prefer the original. It may be my eye, but if you look carefully at the second image, the candelabra on he left seems to be very slightly tilted toward the right whereas on the original it's straight. I also prefer the more contrasty feel of the original.   Posted: 04/01/2021 19:38:40

I would also vote for the first image. It really sparkles! I guess reducing the contrast a little on the first one would help, but wouldn't do anything else.   Posted: 04/04/2021 20:49:55

Barbara, I actually would prefer a combination of the original and the modified version. The sharpness and "sparkle" of the original are great. However, the reds in the original seem a little bit strong. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful image and a creative idea. Well done!   Posted: 04/04/2021 21:06:03

I have to go with the crowd on this one. The muted contrast of the final image gives it a muddy look that detracts from the shapes and textures that the image is all about.   Posted: 04/07/2021 09:04:58

I prefer the colours and sharpness in the original but you seemed to have stretched the second version vertically which I prefer.   Posted: 04/08/2021 06:23:57

I, like the others, find the original a little more appealing. However, both images are excellent images and show great creative thinking to put it all together,   Posted: 04/10/2021 09:28:57
