About the Image(s)

This is from a recent shoot at the University of Texas in Austin where I attended nearly 50 years ago. I zoomed out during the exposure. I did some cropping and straigtening, added clarity and texture and some dehazing. I then used a duotone preset, all in Lightroom. It resulted in a ghostly look that I'm happy with.

The image has impact for me with a creative technique and coloring that adds mood. The appearance makes me wonder who has been down this path before and in certain movies the spirits that are still there   Posted: 06/04/2020 08:09:27

Thank you Bob. Your impressions are exactly what I attempted to convey.   Posted: 06/04/2020 08:58:23

I certainly like this one much more than the original this one has character and mood. I think you handled the zoom effect quite well. It is hard to do and yet make the image look acceptable. Nice Work.   Posted: 06/04/2020 10:50:13

You apparently achieved that which you set out to do, zooming during exposure is tricky. The duplication of the walls in the centre gives the image an eerie feeling . Good work!   Posted: 06/05/2020 18:41:06

Mark, this is wonderful. I completely agree with Bob that this has an "other worldly" impact. The use of duotone and the darkening of the outside of your image really draws my eyes into the photograph. I feel as though I'm walking through a mysterious tunnel. Nicely done.

I think you achieved the ghostly look. the original image did need straightening. I especially think the lights in the ceiling look very nice.   Posted: 06/13/2020 16:40:44

Love this image, Mark, very creative. I agree with the comments above about the color, mood, and effects used to create a photo with mystery. The duo toned color reminds me of something Peter McKinnon does on Instagram. Peter is big on YouTube photography videos as well. It's kind of a cinematic color effect.

Be brave and continue your explorations!
