About the Image(s)

The model was shot at one of our Camera club photo shoots.
The bathtub is a soap dish that belongs to my spouse and is about 5 inches long. Clouds are from my library. A fun image to put together.

You do these merges so well Nick. I think the girl should somehow be immersed even further into the water, maybe a few bubbles around her waist even. For those of us who don't do these type of images well (me). a few words of 'how to' would help.   Posted: 06/03/2018 10:19:11

Nick, your imagination continues to astound me. The idea of bringing together a model, a soap dish and clouds would never have occurred to most people.

It would be interesting to hear your process for doing composites like this.   Posted: 06/07/2018 08:57:28

Oliver-I save my components into an alpha channel; I use the Pen tool in Photoshop to make my selections for the alpha channels; the components are than placed on separate layers for use in the composites.   Posted: 06/10/2018 19:07:13

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing your process. I'll certainly give it a try!

Oliver-I must also mention that the components are composited using the very powerful tool in Photoshop called: Layer mask.   Posted: 06/13/2018 12:11:26

Thank you Nick. (I use Layer Masks frequently.)

I don't know if this helps Nick. Some time ago I attended sculpture classes at the local Technical College. The attached picture was made of a model in one of those Edwardian shoulder baths. It was fashioned in clay and then copied with a peuter metalic finish by a cold casting method. My wife had a pale golden scarf with gold highlights. I draped the ends of this round the model in the bath and then recopied in film adding the blue and gold colors.   Posted: 06/09/2018 08:29:03

It has won a Merit Award at Singapore, amongst others, and has been selected for this years PSA Exhibition   Posted: 06/09/2018 08:31:13

I got this from Nick today:

Here is a revised version of my June image. I had the model remove her bikini bottom!   Posted: 06/10/2018 19:00:50

Richard,
Thanks for your input. Some day, I may try a metallic finish.

Methinks it was Nick removed it--not the model! But all in good taste.   Posted: 06/10/2018 19:02:22
