Hockey in Hanover by Thomas Wiemer, EPSA, BPSA, AFIAP

January 2020 - Hockey in Hanover

About the Image(s)

Once again a sport photography. I took this picture at a hockey game in Hanover in October. The hockey team of Hanover 78 plays in the second division. They are playing on a blue flooring as an artificially turf. I used my 70-200mm Canon. In Photoshop I added motion blur filter, mirrored the picture and extended the background in blue, because there was visible the border of the playing ground which I found disturbing. The print is a part of the actually exhibition theme sport of our Fotoclub.

Thomas, this is a very good action image, very sharp and showing pick of activity, improved considerably by your PP adding motion blur +. It really denotes movement and eliminated distractions according to your description.   Posted: 01/04/2020 11:45:40

You caught the action well, Thomas. The expressions on the faces of the two ladies show great determination. The motion blur adds to the drama.   Posted: 01/04/2020 11:58:43

Wow! You got the peak of the action and as Guy says the motion blur and the expressions on the faces really create a strong impression.   Posted: 01/06/2020 17:56:50

Hi Thomas
As always a top quality image from you the motion blur is expertly added and to perfection the positioning of the 2 girls heads really lifts this picture you have captured intensity and determination brilliantly and the print so deserves its rightful place in the exhibition.   Posted: 01/16/2020 14:30:00

A well done sports photo Thomas, Accentuating the movement, using Motion Blur, adds tension to the action as well. Good color and uncluttered background round out your submission.   Posted: 01/19/2020 13:44:48
