About the Image(s)

I want to with all of you a healthy, happy and prosperous new year. I'm privileged to be with such a diverse group of talented photographer.

Last November or camera club visited a local city historical village. There are several buildings with a plethora of unique table top scenes waiting to be photographed.

This was photographed with my Canon 7D and a Canon 24-105 lens on a tripod, Live Focus and my typical +2,-2 0 automatic exposures. I have included my base image to indicate where I started from.

The HDR process did not cover the white area at the upper left window. (I perhaps could have captured detail if I had expanded the exposure range). I made a selection of the area and copied some of the wood from the adjacent split log wall, tined it a subtle green and a soft diffusion.

My next step was to warm up the picture. that was accomplished with Camera RAW filter and some help from Luminar 2018. I then opened the image in Topaz AI Clear that added some sharpness and cleaned things up. I did note some ghosting on the stems of the plant material. I also added some edge darkening to enhance the effect. Finally I brought the image into Topaz Studio where I added the Painterly effect.

I had a vision of this scene being illuminated by a warm open fireplace. I think I achieved my goal.

Bill, beautiful artistic (painterly) rendition of the original image, and yes you were able to create the appropriate illumination. It took 4 software's to get there.
Nice composition and color rendition.   Posted: 01/03/2019 15:42:39

Bill, you have achieved a lovely 'old master' painting effect which is very attractive. Was there a reason for missing the left hand corner off the table?   Posted: 01/11/2019 09:22:59

It looks to me like a beautiful still life painting. You did a great job of processing. My only issue is that I thought the gourd was an onion. (I have no problem with the corner of the table.   Posted: 01/13/2019 14:52:14

As usual you captured a pleasant setup. your outstanding command of Lightroom, P.S. and plugins makes it possible to take an average image and many times turn it into a masterpiece. The missing table corner is of no concern. Your finished capture should be hanging on the wall of a 17th century Pub.   Posted: 01/26/2019 09:04:01
