About the Image(s)

In Newcastle, Northern Ireland, we came upon a large polished ball, like the famous Bean in Chicago. We all posed in front of it, and then I sat on a nearby low wall and took a selfie. I used my articulated LED screen to find the subject. My usual 18-200 mm lens at 200 mm, 1/320, f/16, ISO 640.

Joe, cool distortion of reality indeed. You look good !! Your selfie is a lot better in every aspect compared to the group picture. Your vantage point acquired the house as well. Your 200 mm crop really made the composition.   Posted: 10/05/2018 10:32:50

That's our Joe. Always finding the unusual.
Excellent idea. Only one little Nit. I would have done some spot removal in the sky.   Posted: 10/09/2018 14:48:13

The spots are on the reflector. that's why I left them.   Posted: 10/09/2018 16:35:26

I really think your mirror selfie idea is fantastic Joe! When I first looked at this photo, I looked at the "house" in the back and thought, "Gee..I wonder where that castle is?" I kind of have a thing for castles. It's a very creative effect and it's very reminiscent of a reflection you might see in some water. Love it!   Posted: 10/09/2018 21:04:35

Hi Joe
Great idea and superbly executed something totally different which I love to see photographers do,it reminds me of the Hall of Mirrors they used to have at Fair grounds when I was young.   Posted: 10/11/2018 16:28:52

A great example of your lateral thinking Joe. I like everything about this image - it has a wonderful magical mystery about it almost into fairy tale territory.   Posted: 10/17/2018 10:13:12

A very artistic shot Joe, I am enjoying the colors, lines and shapes. It appears that you belong there. I think if you remove the globe spots, this image would have better curb appeal, keep up your artistic talent.   Posted: 10/17/2018 15:24:45
