May 2022 - Cherry Blossoms at Tidal Basin
About the Image(s)
This image was taken by mobile phone in March at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC when the cherry blossoms are at peak bloom. The monument in the background is the Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
No Exif data is found, and the created date also shows the incorrect date (May 1) because the flowers have gone since mid April. I just rotate a bit to correct the water level and crop it. Please let me know what you think.

Hi Kieu-Hahn. What a lovely image that just screams SPRING! Beautifully composed, with the soft-focus cherry blossoms forming an attractive frame for the Memorial in the background. I agree this is a pretty spring image with a warm and uplifting feel. I like the cherry blossoms and how they act as a creative frame for the scene. I also like the soft pinks and blue hues in the photograph.
The image is small at only 1024 pixels on the long edge, so it isn't easy to see the focus or clarity in the photo. I find it ideal if the two boats overlapping one another would have a bit more separation, and I also find the highlights to be a bit over-exposed. Since the title of your photo says the image is about the cherry blossoms, I would like to see them in sharp focus as the subject, especially those at the top of the frame. Kieu-Hahn, This image is a wonderful depiction of spring in D.C. I lived in D.C. for a short time but was not there for the cherry blossoms and I will have to go see them! I like how the blossoms frame the top of the image and then you have the monument and beautiful sky in the background. The boats just add to the serenity of it. Very nice beautiful image. You should visit the cherry blossoms in Tidal Basin next year. I missed the blossoms for the last 2 years because the access to cherry blossoms was cut off due to the Covid pandemic. Posted: 05/22/2022 23:40:15

I like the way you framed this image. I think this could work equally well in a vertical orientation, cropping a little to the right of the Jefferson Memorial. Just a thought. Great image though. Posted: 05/12/2022 10:11:52
Kieu-Hanh, what a beautiful spring scene! The delicate cherry blossoms frame the view nicely. Including the Jefferson Memorial makes it a focal point. I prefer that the cherry blossoms be bit sharper, since they're in a prominent position. Posted: 05/14/2022 09:09:22
