About the Image(s)

This image was taken at National Arboretum in Washington DC last week using my iphone XR. I enhanced the color saturation and sharpened it in Photoshop.

Hi Kieu-Hanh! Nice to virtually meet you. I love this time of year and you have captured a beautiful image....and with your iPhone! Proof in point that one doesn't need a fancy camera to produce beautiful images! I like the composition and the leading lines of the stairs that draw the eye into the photo. I feel like I want to walk right in and see where the path leads. You achieved nice color balance between the yellows, oranges and greens. I can't see anything that I would have done differently.   Posted: 11/03/2020 19:24:44

I enjoy the beautiful fall colors in your image. The stairway provides nice leading lines to move my eyes upwards to the brightest leaves. I'd prefer that the sky not be so washed out and light. Perhaps a graduated filter could be used to darken the sky a bit.   Posted: 11/08/2020 18:28:56

Very inviting, I want to walk up those stairs and take a walk thru there. I agree that the sky needs to be darkened or replaced somehow, it is distracting.   Posted: 11/11/2020 14:05:16

Beautiful fall photograph. The leading line of the stairs and the colors along the way invite one into the scene. My only idea would be to take down the brightness of the sky somehow as that is a bit distracting.   Posted: 11/12/2020 16:10:22

Very beautiful photo this month, Kieu-Hanh!

I have to agree with everyone here that the scene is very inviting, the color palette tells a lovely story of the fall season, and the stairway is very inviting to a viewer to want to walk right into the frame.

The sky is the only concern. Just for fun I tried to replace the sky just to see what the difference might look like. I am not a sky replacement expert by no means and this was my first attempt at doing a replacement. I also added a -5 vignette as that was what Lisa thought would also help. Re-editing a jpeg does affect the quality of the original file.

Look forward to your comments.

Have a great day,

Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree that the sky needs some more work.
Thanks LuAnn for trying to replace the sky for my image. I think that it does not look quite natural because of the halo around the leaves.
I also tried to clone some branches to cover the white sky but it was not successful either.   Posted: 11/29/2020 23:53:02
