About the Image(s)

I visited a car show in the small town of Palmyra WI. I took on a personal challenge of trying to capture isolated segments of the cars featuring unique features, lines and contours.

This image was shot ISO 100, 105mm macro lens, f8, 1/100 sec, about 5 ft from the subject. It is cropped slightly at the left side of the image. I sharpened it, added some HDR compression and glow in OnOne Photo Suite. I then converted to black and white.

Well done. You turned something that was ordinary in to perfect. The head light in the final is so sharp and clear and isolated as the subject.
The red flames to white isolated the subject even more. The next car show I go to I will think about yes photo. It is a new way to look at the ordinary.   Posted: 09/08/2019 14:05:01

I find the combination of the headlight and flames intriguing. Changing the scene to b&w puts the attention on the headlight instead of the flames. Were the flames a background for the car? I'm not sure the reflection on the side of the headlight which shows the outdoor setting of the car show fits with the tone set by the flames in the background. You could consider adding a white frame around your image to define the black edge on the right.   Posted: 09/22/2019 17:46:19

nice, I like the isolation of the cool headlight and the flames, really like the B&W treatment too. The color version works also. well done   Posted: 09/28/2019 09:28:34

The way you isolated the headline made the image very intriguing and made the viewers want to study more! I am curious to know why the flame was used in this car show. Your conversion to B&W is well done! I think that the reflection of the flame at the dashboard in B&W gave the impression that the dashboard was bumpy.   Posted: 09/29/2019 06:33:04

I love an image like this one. I really like the way you handle the flames in the background. Very creative, well done!   Posted: 09/30/2019 10:23:11
