About the Image(s)

I have misplaced the original but I do remember that the cropping was the most important issue here. Otherwise, I needed to correct the horizon as the image was tilted to the right. Once the horizon was transformed I needed to clone some grass in and some of the trees top right in. I chose to do the easy adjustments in Lightroom and I flipped the image which to my eye made the image more dynamic. I also liked the way that the whip leads from the left into the image and toward the drivers and the reins lead the eye to the horse.

This is a lovely, sharp action shot. Maybe it has been cropped a little too tight at the bottom. The front right hoof is very close to the edge of the image. If the original was like this you might try to extend the bottom of the canvas slightly in Photoshop and fill it with grass to lift the hoof into the frame.   Posted: 03/08/2023 16:01:27

This looks so exciting. I know nothing about this horse driving and would like to know what it is called and where the event is. I feel like your subjects are very sharp, great action and intensity of all three can be seen. In the ideal world, it would be nice if we could see the horse's eyes, and perhaps you could lighten them slightly--or at least his left. As Martin said, the crop is a little too tight, but it's something only photographers notice! Great shot!   Posted: 03/08/2023 18:30:41

Jaqueline, You certainly get to some interesting events!
What fun to be able to photograph this. I'm assuming it's some sort of competition, but it's nothing like I've ever seen before.
As Martin pointed out, the horses right front hoof is out of the frame, but I love the rest of it. The lines, the intensity, the (unmentioned until now) the setting - and the shell of a stone house in the background. Very cool!
Where and what was this event?   Posted: 03/12/2023 19:34:27
