A little creative this month. I had a good sequence of a cape buffalo on video during a trip to Tanzania in 2011. Unfortunately I didn't have anything taken on my still camera so I captured the best frame from the video. A little layering and using a background of a basket weave, I thought that this would also be a way of covering for the lack of sharpness of the animal. The video camera used was a Sony Handicam DCR-HC42 and the only relevance here was that it had sufficient precision to allow single frames to be extracted. Software used was Corel Paintshop Pro.

I like the creative edit. You got rid of the yellow cast & maintained the feeling that it was looking straight at me. I've gotten so lazy about using LR that I rarely go into other programs where I can add layers.   Posted: 11/03/2019 13:26:13

I like what you have done with the apparent tough shot. The catch light in his one eye and the shiny nostril on that side lead me to a point of interest. I feel the softness of the grasses leading me out of the frame. A fun creation that would be neat printed for a ranch.   Posted: 11/04/2019 10:19:00

Very nice picture!! I like the idea for a basket as background, but I would use a content aware tool to create more space above the head placing the eyes closer to the 1/3 line, then I would desaturate the green grass so as to be less bright.   Posted: 11/10/2019 22:25:17
