About the Image(s)

I thought I would have a bit of fun with this. I took this gull in 2012 and then played with the splitting function of Paintshop Pro. Originally this was taken with a 400mm Canon lens and a t2i DLSR at 1/2000 and f5.6. I can't remember all the other steps except the vignetting and conversion to B&W. And now, given the present political climate, it seems apt to present it.

Sometimes we just have to do something for fun, and I like your story. I know you don't have the information of how you edited this, but if you had done this in some kind of layer format, I would like to have seen the seagull masked and left sharp as in your original. But it was for fun, and I had to chuckle!   Posted: 08/03/2019 12:56:03

Very creative. You can make memes all day long with this image. I like it and need to venture out and play more with my photos.   Posted: 08/04/2019 10:41:27

I think it would make a great postcard with "On the stump" alone as the title. I would add some contrast for effect. Piers   Posted: 08/04/2019 14:04:39

The seagull looks like a creature from Wonderland or someplace else fantastical. Well done!   Posted: 08/05/2019 08:06:37

Very nice play with this and a good subject for the twinning. Let me double down and say this is a great vignetting for the subject. Nice image!   Posted: 08/05/2019 20:01:41

This is so much fun.
Here is some history of this technique. The photographer Phillipe Halsman (know for his *Jump Book*) had a nearly 40-year collaboration with the artist Salvador Dali. Another of his books was *Dali's Moustache*. Here is a sample from that book.   Posted: 08/07/2019 20:51:56
